Dr. Amber DVA Johnson is a historian, researcher, and public history consultant with expertise in Canadian history, reconciliation-focused work, and extensive experience in archival research.

She holds a Ph.D. in Canadian Studies from Trent University, where her doctoral research examined Residential School memorialization and the role of archives in shaping public memory.

Amber has over a decade of experience supporting litigation, curriculum development, museum exhibits, and reconciliation projects. She is a professor at Durham College and a core member of the Expert Advisory Committee for the Independent Evaluation of Indigenous Services Canada.
